Proper Test Technique

Wash hands with soap and warm water, dry thoroughly before testing and removing a test strip from the vial.

Test Strips Reminders

NEVER re-use test strips. DO NOT attempt to remove blood or control solution from test strips or clean test strips and re-use. NEVER wipe test strips with water, alcohol or any cleaner Reuse of test strips will cause inaccurate results.

E-0

The system will trigger an E-0 error message when it detects an HCT range that is < 20% or > 70%.

E-1

The system will trigger an E-1 error message if the meter detects the meter’s internal temperature is too hot {> 104°F (40°C)} or too cold {< 41°F (5°C) or the internal temperature changed too quickly.

E-2

The system will trigger an E-2 error message if the meter detects there not enough blood or control solution being drawn up in the test strip or if the wrong test strip is being used or if the test strips were improperly stored.

The system will trigger an E-3 error message if the meter detects the test strip have been used or the test strip has been left outside of vial too long or the test sample have been applied on top of the test strip.

The system will trigger an E-4 error message if the meter detects an Internal Safety Meter Mechanism issue.

E-5

The system will trigger an E-5 error message if the meter detects a test strips issue or if the blood glucose result is higher than 600 mg/dL.

The system will trigger an E-6 error message if the meter detects the test strip is removed prematurely from the meter before the test is completed.

The system will trigger an E-9 error message if unable to complete the download of results from the meter to computer

Low Battery or Dead Battery Symbol

The system will trigger the low battery or dead battery symbol is an indication that the battery life is low and there may be only 50 more tests before the battery dies.

Broken Display

The system will trigger a display 2 dashed lines” === “ to indicate that the LCD display is broken.

Hi

The system will trigger a Hi message if the meter detects blood glucose results greater than 600mg/dL.

Lo

The system will trigger a Lo message if the meter detects blood glucose results less than 20mg/dL.

Toggle Example

1. Wash hands with soap and warm water, dry thoroughly before testing and removing a test strip from the vial.
2. Setup the lancing device and select the appropriate depth.
3. Remove 1 test strip from vial (immediately close vial) and insert into the meter’s testing port with the contact blocks facing up and wait for the blood drop icon to appear on the screen.
4. Lance your finger and wait for a sufficient blood drop to form on the finger.
5. With the test strip still in the meter touch Sample Tip of test strip to the top of the blood drop vertically and allow blood to be drawn up into the test strip (Making sure that the tip of the test strip does not make contact with the skin, and do not sweep the blood drop off the finger).
6. Remove test strip from blood drop immediately after the meter beeps and dashes appear across the display. After a minimum of 4 seconds, the meter will display a result.

2. FDA warns not to use test strips from a previous owner (pre-owned test strips) or test strips not authorized for sale in the United States (U.S.) as it may lead to inaccurate test results or potentially cause infection. Incorrect results from home-use tests may increase the risk of serious patient injury, including death.(1) need reference
3. Store test strip vial in a dry place at a temperature between 40°F-86°F at 10%-80% relative humidity. DO NOT FREEZE.
4. Test strips MUST be kept in original vial with vial cap tightly sealed. NEVER transfer test strips from one vial to another, for example, do not store test strips in a zip-sealed bag or the meter carrying case
5. Use test strip quickly after removing from vial. Recap vial right away. Test strips left outside of vial too long may give an error message or inaccurate results.
6. DO NOT store in bathroom or kitchen. DO NOT expose to extreme heat or cold, direct sunlight or high humidity for any length of time.
7. DO NOT bend, cut, or alter test strips in any way.
8. NEVER add a second drop of sample to the test strip; adding more sample may result in an error message.
9. Test strips are for in vitro diagnostic use only. DO NOT consume.
10.Discard used test strips into an appropriate container.
